Featured Educator: Tara Rinchen (STEAM)

Tara Rinchen is our STEAM educator. Tara obtained her BA from Duke University in international comparative studies. She is currently pursuing her MA in International Education Development at Columbia University’s Teachers College. Born into a semi-farming family in Tibet, Tara is one of the first children in her region to attend school, let alone university. From her personal experience, she believes that a holistic education can transform people’s lives. Tara does not take education for granted, and she hopes to impart that appreciation for knowledge to her students. In the last four years of her education career, she strongly feels the need for compassion-based education practices. Therefore, she pays close attention to the students’ social, emotional, and ethical growth.

"When I get free time, I hang out with my best friend, ‘Mother-Nature.’ She brings so much joy and happiness in my life, and always full of surprises. I love taking photos of her natural states. I love her very much!"

Here’s what our members have to say
