A playful journey of flexibility, strength, and balance, Seedling Yogis for toddlers invites little ones to deepen their connection to their bodies through fun, engaging movement and mindful play. In this mini yoga adventure, we also introduce simple breathing exercises and mindfulness moments, offering toddlers their first tools for relaxation and focus. As they practice together, they develop not only physical skills, but also social skills, learning to share space, cooperate, and interact with others in a safe and supportive environment. In this energetic and playful partnership with SocRoc Soccer, players will begin to build their soccer skills while having a ton of fun! Through a mix of guided drills, fun challenges, and team games, children will learn essential skills like dribbling, passing, and shooting, all while developing coordination, balance, and teamwork. By the end of the course, our kickers will have the confidence to play more independently, understand basic game rules, and, most importantly, enjoy the excitement of playing soccer with their friends!

In partnership with Brooklyn Robot Foundry, we bring you hands-on STEM fun! In this course, kids will dive into the world of circuits, motors, and imagination as they build and take home their very own robot each week. Every session, young inventors will design, construct, and customize a working robot using real tools and components. Whether it’s a spinning creature, a glowing gadget, or a robot that zooms across the floor, each project brings STEM learning to life in the most playful way. Along the way, we will explore the basics of engineering, electronics, and creative problem-solving, all while building confidence and having a blast. Get ready for a high-energy, take-it-home robotics adventure—where every class ends with something amazing your child built themselves!

Forget pop art—this is Baby Art! In our Sprouting Artists class, the tiniest of creators will dive into a world of sensory magic, where art is more about feeling, touching, and exploring than just making pictures. With soft petals, sweet-smelling herbs, and textured, colorful sensory bins, little hands will squish, paint, and play their way to developing fine motor skills and discovering the wonders of art in the most playful, safe, and nurturing space. Created by early childhood art experts, this class is a whimsical adventure where babies can explore the world around them through texture, color, and creativity.

It’s time for your little one to start their journey toward independence—and we’re here to make it fun! In this class, your child will explore new activities and interact with their peers in a cozy, school-like setting. Each session, an experienced educator will introduce a different Montessori or Reggio-inspired "work" (think: hands-on activities that feel more like play!) designed to nurture curiosity and confidence. With plenty of playtime, group activities, and conversations about your child’s development, this class will help build the skills your little explorer needs to thrive in preschool. Move and groove to different styles of dance! In this dance class, we’ll explore different dance styles every two weeks including contemporary, jazz, hip-hop and more through warm-ups, movement games, and learning mini combinations. By the end of the course, students will be able to present what they learned through a dance performance!

Grab your paintbrushes and get ready to create a masterpiece! In this colorful art adventure, young artists will explore the magic of painting on canvas, molding clay into fantastical shapes, and experimenting with all kinds of fun materials. Each week is a new artistic journey, where kids can take bold creative risks, share ideas with friends, and let their imaginations soar! By the end of the course, they’ll help design their very own art show, filled with all their unique creations—from paintings to sculptures and everything in between.

Budding Artists (3-5 yrs): Hands on Exploration

A joyful exploration of balance, strength, and sensory discovery, Sprouting Yogis is the next step after Sprouting Movers and introduces little ones to the foundations of yoga through playful movement and mindful play. This mini adventure through motion invites babies to engage in a variety of gentle stretches and flowing movements, as they explore colorful, textured mats and soft, squishy props. Ready for some after-school fun? Welcome to Cocoon’s After School Club, the ultimate hangout for kids k-2! In this dedicated space, children can unwind, socialize, explore, and unleash their creativity after a busy school day. With a variety of exciting activities and materials at their fingertips, kids will have the freedom to choose how they spend their time. From diving into chapter books in our cozy reading nook to designing jewelry, building with Legos, playing board games and filling sketchbooks with prompted drawings, there’s something for every child in Cocoon’s After School Club.

Looking for guidance, encouragement, or simply a supportive space to talk about feeding your baby? Join La Leche League of Manhattan in our space for a FREE, no-judgment peer-to-peer support group focused on breastfeeding, chestfeeding, and human milk feeding. All moms, dads, parents, and support people of any gender identity are welcome. Bring your questions about feeding, sleep, pumping, weaning, bottles, and more! This event is open to both members and non-members.

 We kindly ask that attendees refrain from bringing older siblings to maintain a focused space. Please note this does not permit access to our space for free play (non-members). Session dates are June 27, July 25 and August 29.

This playful class gets toddlers moving, stretching, and exploring through yoga-inspired poses, tumbling, and sensory fun. With music, soft props, and lots of imagination, little ones build strength, balance, and body awareness while learning to breathe, take turns, and move with confidence. It’s a joyful mix of movement and mindfulness designed just for busy, curious toddlers!

This explorative language class introduces children to the Spanish language through playful activities, songs, games, and storytelling. Your little one will learn basic vocabulary, numbers, colors, and simple phrases, all while developing listening, speaking, and social skills. With a combination of visual aids, props, and hands-on activities, mini linguists will have the chance to interact with the language in a way that feels natural and fun. By the end of the course, children will have gained a solid foundation in Spanish that will set the stage for continued language learning.

Vivian was born and raised in Taiwan and California. She discovered her passion in working with children when she was in college, and switched her major to education when she was about to graduate. She moved to New York in 2020 wanting to experience change and try living in the city. She's happy to say that it’s definitely growing on her and she's trying to make it home! Vivian loves forming bonds with families and children, and is very excited about being apart of the Cocoon family.

I am originally from the Midwest and have always maintained an affinity for reading and writing. I hold BAs in Digital Media and Anthropology from Fordham University and a Masters in Professional Writing from NYU. I have experience in a variety of professional fields ranging from entertainment to the nonprofit sector to boutique public relations. Throughout every turn of my career, though, I have loved interacting with others the most, and I am passionate about making connections. I strive to create a welcoming environment for everyone I come into contact with. Outside of work, I enjoy watching tennis, screening horror/thriller films, exploring local bookstores, and drinking copious amounts of coffee.

I am an accomplished educator with 17 years of experience in the K-12 sector, dedicated to nurturing creativity and critical thinking in students. Alongside a passion for teaching, I have cultivated a unique career in high end fashion, blending artistic expression with educational principles. As a surrealist fine artist, I explore the boundaries of imagination, creating thought-provoking works that challenge perceptions and inspire dialogue. With a dynamic background that merges education and art, I continue to influence and inspire the next generation of thinkers and creators.

I was born and raised in Manhattan and experience all the city has to offer. Now with two amazing kids, I get to share that with them. Showing them the magic of Christmas and the smells of roasted chestnuts and drinking hot chocolate on bitter cold days. The best part of being a dad is seeing their faces in awe and their high pitch squeals of excitement when sharing a new experience together. Through my 15+ years experience of being a real estate broker, property manager, and construction consultant, Cocoon is by far the most meaningful and exciting project I have had the privilege of helping to build.

I’m the youngest of seven kids, and every meal was like a feast. Don’t be surprised that I never turn down food!

I have over a decade of experience in Early Childhood education. I'm currently teaching kindergarten, a role that brings me immense joy and fulfillment. My educational background includes both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Early Childhood and Students with Disabilities, reflecting my commitment to providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment. On a personal note, I'm not only dedicated to my professional growth but also to my family. I am married and blessed with three wonderful kids who bring joy and inspiration to my life. Outside the classroom and Cocoon, I find joy in the kitchen, experimenting with new recipes. I'm thrilled to be a part of the dynamic team at Cocoon.

I cherish quality time with my family and we love to make crafts together!

Jacob Patrone is a jazz drummer and percussionist who has played and recorded in many styles and genres. He also loves watching movies and reading. Jacob graduated from the New School of Jazz with a BFA in Music Performance and is super excited to bring these skills to the classroom here at Cocoon!

A fun fact about me is I once took a solo road trip from NYC to Wyoming in three days!

When I was a child my first passion was singing! To this day I’m always humming, whistling, or singing a tune. I attended a musical theater conservatory school and fell in love with performing for children’s theater! From there, I decided to study child development and discovered my passion for teaching. I managed a child development center in Tribeca and served as a preschool teacher, camp director, science, art, and mommy and me teacher! I couldn’t be more excited to draw from my past experience and embrace my new community at Cocoon!

I first knew I was going to pursue the arts after watching Andrew Lloyd Webber’s CATS on VHS every single day in the year 2001. After studying Performing Arts and Social Justice at university and working in schools, jails and community care facilities I knew a part of my journey would be working and teaching in any community I find myself in. I am now a based full spectrum doula and movement arts educator, and am passionate about education in all forms. I have been teaching children gymnastics, dance, yoga, mindfulness, music, art and theatre for more than a decade!

If I wasn't a performer and educator I would have a cooking show on the Food Network!

I found Cocoon after 10 years experience in early childhood classrooms as a certified Montessori teacher. Born into a multicultural family, I learned early the value of being surrounded by a caring community, and I’m thrilled to bring this passion for community building to Cocoon. As the oldest of three girls, I’ve loved and cared for little ones as long as she I remember. And as an artist, I’ve taught adults and children alike, both in formal school settings as well as in private art studios. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, I now reside in vibrant Crown Heights, Brooklyn with my cat, Koko. I couldn't be more excited to be a part of growing Cocoon into an important community resource.

I grew up in the city that never sleeps and have been a Manhattanite since the age of three. I love that my two children are growing up in my local neighborhood, sharing some of my same childhood experiences, and making new memories together. When we’re not city slickers, our family enjoys the outdoors —nature adventures from camping to hiking and swimming. I am continually inspired and challenged as my kids explore and discover themselves, this world, and others. When I don’t have my mom cape on, I am a creative professional with over 15 years of experience in visual, print, and user interface design, and brand strategy.

I once hiked for 7 days in the Andean mountains, through blood, sweat and tears—it was a glorious journey. Yeah, parenthood feels like that.

I've been a proud member of the Cocoon family since its inception three years ago. Currently, I serve as a Facilities Associate, contributing to the smooth operation and positive atmosphere within Cocoon. I also had the privilege of being a part of the events crew, where I showcase my talent in creating wonderful food presentations. Beyond my role at Cocoon, I wear another hat as a dedicated housekeeper for prestigious buildings in the Tribeca area. I take pride in delivering my best in all that I do, ensuring a clean and welcoming environment for everyone. Academically, I hold a Bachelor's degree in Accountancy. One of my greatest achievements is supporting my siblings, nieces, and nephews through their college journeys. Family is at the core of my values, and I am happily married with one wonderful son. At Cocoon, we are more than colleagues – we are a family, and that sense of unity makes each day special.

In my leisure time, you'll find me in the kitchen! It brings me immense joy to create delicious meals and share them with my loved ones.

I am a postpartum centric full spectrum doula, educator, doula mentor, curriculum and content builder and co-founder of Birdsong. I have been serving the New York birth and parenting community since 2013. I've served 400+ families in the pregnancy, birth and postpartum period and still feel the immense joy I've felt the very first time. Before having babies, I worked in the New York theater community and still use my comedy, writing and performing skills to support and educate families.

I am also a certified herbalist and breathwork practitioner, and a proud mama of two loving wild little boys. I love cooking, making herbal medicines, rainbows and laughing, like deep belly snorting laughing. I am happiest when I'm roller skating or getting my hands dirty in the garden.

It's my deepest desire that Cocoon brings community together in the times we need it the most.

From growing up in Savannah, Georgia, to exploring San Diego over the past 6 years, I am beyond excited to be back on the east coast in vibrant New York City. With a decade of experience in teaching children's theater and nannying children of various ages, I firmly advocate for the educational value of art and its profound impact on young minds. When I'm not working you can find me falling off a surfboard, climbing a mountain, painting a canvas, or swinging a tennis racket. I am thrilled to join the heartwarming Cocoon team and look forward to connecting with the wonderful families that make up our community!

Sierra is so excited to be a part of a community that is truly focused on building futures and building smiles. She brings with her over a decade of customer service and large scale event experience. She's hosted everything from birthday parties to movie premieres, to even hosting politicians, and her goal is to always create an amazing environment that everyone is excited to come back to. Whether it’s a big party or just a regular Tuesday every single day has the potential to be amazing. She's committed to creating a safe and loving environment, and she approaches every opportunity with open arms and kindness.

I have a very large cat named Marc who will respond with a meow every time you talk to him! I’m also a Texan, and very willing to teach you how to two step.

Alyx has been working in alternative education for over thirteen years working for institutions such as the Brooklyn Museum of Art, the Wyckoff House Museum, and the Brooklyn Historical Society among others. She received dual Master’s degrees from NYU in Education and Ancient Egyptian linguistics, and has been working to help make multifaceted educational experiences more accessible, enjoyable, and welcoming throughout her hometown of New York City. She feels she has been truly lucky to get to work with so many amazing families from all walks of life and is so excited to serve the Cocoon community.

I can read and speak 7 ancient languages, but am still learning Japanese and Arabic.

I’m a full spectrum doula, childbirth educator, and certified lactation counselor with a private practice in NYC. I’ve trained with Latham Thomas of Mama Glow as well as DONA international and Birdsong Brooklyn. I’m certified in infant CPR and safety, and hold a certification as a one-on-one breathwork meditation guide. Before becoming a doula, I spent over a decade helping create customer-centric experiences in some of New York City’s best restaurants, including Gramercy Tavern and Eleven Madison Park. After becoming a mother in 2012, I returned to the restaurant world, but found that it was not well-suited for families or working mothers. Feeling the isolation, physical and emotional depletion, and exhaustion that can be new motherhood, I saw the deep need for support and community for mothers and birthing people before, during, and after the baby arrives. It has become my life's work to create nurturing environments of support for birthing people. I love researching and talking about all things birth and motherhood, listening to books on audible, and supporting fellow doulas, clients, swimming, bubble baths, beautiful smelling things, laughing, hiking in the woods upstate and making and sharing delicious meals with my son, family, and friends.
